On June 2, Consul General Li Xuhang held a video meeting with Younis Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Healthcare Corporation at the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). Vice Consul-General Sun Xudong and Counsellor Wu Yi also attended the meeting.
Li Xuhang said that since the outbreak of the COVID-19, China and the UAE carried out extensive and close cooperation on the basis of mutual support and help. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, tweeted soon after the outbreak of the disease giving support to the people of China in the fight against the epidemic. He also held a phone call with President Xi Jinping, expressing his willingness to provide all support to China. The UAE offered help to China by providing medical supplies. Moreover, Burj Khalifa and ADNOC Headquarters, the landmarks of the UAE, were lit up in red, the color of China's national flag, in support of China and Wuhan. China has also actively shared experience in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of the disease with the UAE. On April 10, State Councilor Wang Yi held a phone call with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation expressing China's strong support for the UAE’s fight against the pandemic. China is willing to further strengthen international cooperation in fight against the pandemic with the UAE and jointly build a global community of health for all.
Dr. Younis Kazim congratulated China on its achievements in responding to the COVID-19, and hoped that with the assistance of the Consulate General of China, the two countries would conduct more exchanges and cooperation to jointly win the victory of the fight against the pandemic.
