On April 23, 2025, Consul General Ou Boqian led a delegation of diplomats from the Consulate General in Dubai on an official visit to the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) to conduct a field study.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DP World, provided Consul General Ou and her delegation with a comprehensive overview of the development history and strategic vision of DP World and JAFZA. He expressed a strong desire to deepen cooperation between DP World, JAFZA and China within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, and warmly welcomed the growing number of Chinese enterprises investing and operating in the zone. He emphasized that JAFZA remains committed to providing a favorable business environment and high-quality services for Chinese companies. Consul General Ou commended JAFZA for its leading role in driving trade growth and economic diversification in Dubai. She noted the alignment between China’s and Dubai’s development philosophies—both adept at transforming challenges into opportunities and innovating in the face of global changes. She expressed readiness to further enhance bilateral cooperation, contributing greater momentum to the prosperity of both economies. The two sides also held in-depth discussions on strengthening unity and jointly mitigating risks amid the current disruptions to the global multilateral trade framework and system.

During the visit, Consul General Ou and her delegation conducted on-site inspections of the pure car carrier Tingjiangkou of the COSCO Shipping, Dubai Yiwu China Commodities City and its overseas warehouse, as well as CNBM’s Dubai overseas warehouse. The delegation also convened a roundtable discussion with representatives of Chinese-invested enterprises in the region.
