Consul General Li Xuhang, accompanied by Commercial Counselor Jin Lei, met with Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World.
Li Xuhang highly recognized the role of Jebel Ali Free Zone under the leadership of Sultan in boosting Dubai, even the UAE’s economy. The long-term partnership between China and DP World serves as a springboard for Chinese enterprises to enter the the Middle East and Africa market, which reflects that the economic cooperation between China and UAE has been upgrading and optimizing. Li noted that President Xi’s visit last year elevated the relation to comprehensive strategic partnership and prospects for cooperation will be bright. Li conveyed his hope that the cooperation can deliver more results under the Belt and Road Initiative, which will enhance the comprehensive strategic partnership.
Sultan congratulated Li Xuhang for assuming his position and thanked the support Chinese Consulate General provided for DP World. Sultan briefly introduced DP World and expressed readiness to continue its role as bridge between East and West. Sultan, praising China’s economic development, stressed that DP World will carry on its cooperation with China under the Belt and Road Initiative in the spirit of consultation, contribution and share benefits.
