Consul General Li Xuhang Meets with Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah

    On July 23rd, Consul General Li Xuhang, accompanied by Vice Consul-General Sun Xudong and Counselor Jin Lei, met with Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, a member of the Federal Supreme Council of the UAE and the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.

    Li Xuhang appreciated the achievements that Ras Al Khaimah has made in its development in recent years, especially its outstanding performance in trade, tourism and the construction of a free trade zone. Li Xuhang emphasized that in recent years, China and the UAE have had frequent high-level visits between each other, the relations between the two countries have developed rapidly, and bilateral cooperation has continued to deepen. The UAE will surely become a bright pearl along the Belt and Road. At present, the economic, trade and cultural cooperation between the two sides has yielded fruitful results. The Chinese Palace Museum has carried out productive archaeological excavations and Chinese companies are operating well and flourishing in the free trade zone in Ras Al Khaimah. The Chinese Consulate General in Dubai is willing to work with Ras Al Khaimah to promote cooperation between the two sides in commerce, trade, culture, tourism, education and other fields to a higher level and benefit the people of both countries.

    Sheikh Saud expressed welcome to Li Xuhang for his assumption of office and spoke highly of the achievements in the development of the China-UAE relations and precious opportunities provided by the Belt and Road Initiative for cooperation between the two countries. He stated that Ras Al Khaimah attaches great importance to cooperation with China and hoped that the two sides could further expand cooperation in economy, trade, culture, and Chinese-language teaching among others. He welcomed more Chinese enterprises with development potential and Chinese tourists to invest in or visit Ras Al Khaimah. He hoped that by walking hand in hand, the two sides could deepen the pragmatic cooperation between the two countries under the BRI framework.
